Actron CP7828 Professional Compression Tester with Storage Pouch Overview
This compression tester measures cylinder compression to accurately diagnose engine leaks from rings, burnt valves and blown head gasket. This tester has a quick disconnect coupler that separates the hose from the gauge for faster, easier connections to the engine. RX-7 Compression Test Video Clips. Duration : 0.65 Mins.
This is a compression test I performed on my RX-7 TII with 86000 miles on it. The compression tool used was made by Actron, which I purchased from Autozone. My engine passed the compression test with flying colors! The Mazda Factory Service Manual states that the reading on front and rear chambers should be above 85 psi. Lower than that is in need of a rebuild. 90+ psi is good enough to run the engine reliably 95+ psi is very good 100+ psi is excellent
